Another of my digital paintings. This is the book cover of my book @Fungus Rock Night Adventure - Loving Mathilde@
Monochrome of the statue of St. Andrew at Xlendi (Sh lend ee) Bay, Gozo. I love these monochromes. Every pen or pencil stroke is easily visible .
One of my first tries at Digital painting. Girl face from memory.
Face of Jesus which I modelled in Gozo clay. When thoroughly dry I gave it a coat of white acrylic paint. Also used acrylic paint for the colouring. Fixed it to a polished mahogany base and is now hanging in my living room.
One of my monochromes representing the port of Mgarr Gozo as it was up to the 1970s.
I HAVE A GREAT MANY HOBBIES AND PASTIMES. LISTED BY CATEGORY I HAVE PAINTING, CLAY SCULPTURE, PLAYING SNOOKER, WRITING, MUSIC, DIY AND OTHERS TOO.
PAINTING IS SUB-DIVIDED INTO OIL, ACRYLIC, WATER-COLOUR AND DIGITAL ART AND DRAWING. CLAY SCULPTURE ENCOMPASSES CREATING THE FIGURINES, ETC AND IN SOME INSTANCES ALSO FIRING THE CLAY SCULPTURES.

WRITING IS ALSO QUITE A VAST CATEGORY AND MAY INCLUDE : REFERNCE MATERIAL (SNOOKER AIMING), INSTRUCTION AND TEACHING (BOOK KEEPING AND ACCOUNTS), JOKES AND FICTION.
MUSIC IN MY CASE INVOLVES LEARNING TO READ MUSIC AND LEARNING TO PLAY THE PIANO.
DIY IS ALSO MANY-SIDED AND I HAVE TRIED MY HAND AT CARPENTRY, PLASTERING, TILE LAYING, BUILDING WITH BRICKS, PLUMBING AND ELECTRICITY AND OTHER SKILLS TOO.
MY OTHER OUTSIDE HOBBIES/PASTIMES INCLUDE SOME GARDENING, CYCLING WITH MY EBIKE, FISHING, SWIMMING AND SNORKELLING. IN MY YOUNGER DAYS I HAVE DONE SOME CAMPING, SHOOTING QUAIL, SPEAR FISHING, BOATING AND SOLO SAILING.
REGARDING MY HABITS I GOT RID OF A BAD ONE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. I USED TO SMOKE 6 OR 7 CIGARETTES A DAY BUT THE DOCTOR ADVISED ME TO QUIT. THIS HAPPENED AFTER I HAD A BOUT OF BAD COUGHING AND I COMPLAINED TO MY DOCTOR THAT I HAD A CHEST PAIN. HE IMMEDIATELY SENT ME TO EMERGENCY AND I HAD TO UNDERGO A LOT OF TESTS AT THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE THEY FEARED THAT I MIGHT BE HAVING A MILD HEART ATTACK. BUT LUCKILY IT WAS NOTHING OF THE SORT.
ON THE OTHER HAND I HAVE ONE GOOD HABIT TOO. I LIKE TO PRAY. I LIVE IN THE FAMILY HOME AND I HAVE WITNESSED SEVERAL OF MY OLD RELATIVES PASS AWAY HERE. THEY ALL LOVED ME VERY MUCH AND I STILL REMEMBER HOW THEY ALL CARED FOR ME. SO HOW CAN I FORGET THEM OR NOT PRAY FOR THEIR SOULS. I KNOW THAT THEY PRAY FOR ME TOO.
THEN I PRAY TO GOD THE FATHER TO THANK HIM FOR WHAT HE HAS GIVEN ME AND FOR KEEPING ME GOOD.
YOU MAY WISH TO GO TO THE PAGE 'STORIES AND POSTS' TO READ ONE OF MY PRAYERS. OR GO TO 'CONTACTS' TO SEND ME A MESSAGE WITH YOUR COMMENT/S. ALSO, IF YOU WRITE A PRAYER WHICH I LIKE I MAY PRINT IT FOR EVERYBODY TO SEE.
GOING BACK TO MY HOBBIES I WANT TO SING THE PRAISES OF SOLO SAILING.
ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO I HAD A SMALL YACHT, A 20 FT HUNTER MEDINA A PERFECT BOAT FOR SAILING ALONE. BUT ALAS I HAD TO SELL IT SO NO MORE SAILING FOR ME.
IT HAD A REALLY HEAVY IRON KEEL WHICH I COULD LOWER OR RAISE AT WILL BY MEANS OF A WINCH. THIS ALLOWED ME TO MANOEUVRE THE CRAFT IN VERY SHALLOW WATER WHEN I NEEDED TO MOOR TO A QUAY.
I USED TO SPEND WHOLE DAYS ON BOARD MY YACHT FROM EARLY MORNING TILL LATE AFTERNOON BECAUSE IN THE CABIN I HAD A SMALL COOKER ON GIMBALS TO BOIL WATER FOR COFFEE OR TEA, BUNK BEDS WHERE I COULD REST INCLUDING A TOILET AND A FRESH WATER SHOWER. I HAD A 6-HORSE POWER OUTBOARD MOTOR FOR CRUISING AND A SIMPLE BUT EFFICIENT AUTO-HELM WHICH WAS LIKE A CREW MEMBER GIVING ME A HAND.
THE LONGEST TRIP WHICH I EVER MADE WAS AROUND GOZO AND COMINO IN A FORCE 5 SW STIFF BREEZE. I LEFT MARSALFORN AT ABOUT 6.30 AM AND ARRIVED BACK AT MY MOORINGS AT 4.30 PM. IT WAS CALM WHEN I STARTED OUT BUT THE WIND FRESHENED SOON AFTER AND BY THE TIME I REACHED REQQA POINT IT WAS BLOWING AND THE BOAT WAS STEADILY FLYING AND RAMMING THE WAVES WHILE I KEPT TASTING THE SALT AND WIPING THE WATER OFF MY FACE.
I ARRIVED DEAD TIRED BECAUSE IN THAT STIFF BREEZE I HAD TO STEER AND TACK AND HOLD THE HELM ALL THE TIME. I HARDLY FOUND THE CHANCE TO MAKE A CUP OF TEA. THAT IS ONE DISADVANTAGE OF BEING ALONE ESPECIALLY ON A SAILING BOAT WHERE YOU HAVE TO ATTEND TO SO MANY THINGS IN QUICK SUCCESSION ALL BY YOURSELF. BUT IT WAS FUN AND I AM PROUD THAT I MANAGED TO DO IT - MY LONGEST SEA VOYAGE, LOL.
The 20 ft Hunter Medina sailing boat. This is not my boat but it is exactly like it. Even the colour is the same. My boat was called Little Bro, it was great for solo sailing. I could even tow it on its own trailer to my garage. No use of crying over spilt milk now. At least I enjoyed it when I had the chance.
